Painting party
Shortly after Adam and I moved into our co-op, his sister said that we had to paint it and convinced his whole family to come out one day to paint our apartment. That day was today and, despite my reservations about this plan, I helped Adam prep for the big day by moving things away from the wall and trying to tidy up. Save for painting my bedroom in San Francisco when I moved in which was years ago, Adam and I had virtually no painting experience between the two of us. So we were pretty overwhelmed when his sister, brother-in-law, mom, and stepdad came in this morning carrying bags of supplies and started moving everything sans furniture out of the first room we were painting and caulking, sanding, dusting, etc. His brother and sister-in-law came about an hour after and we now had seven people prepping and painting our bedroom (even with the number of people involved, it took about four hours to complete). After realizing the same thing would have to be done with any other rooms we decided to paint, we decided to scrap any plans to paint any other rooms--the bedroom was the only room, if any, that could use a painting and we didn't see how it would be possible to move all our non-furniture items into a freshly painted room and prep and paint another. I think painting the rest of the apartment is best left as a job for the professionals, or at least when we're ready to sell the co-op.

Interview with Holly of Watch Me Turn 30
I thought I'd take a departure from my usual posts and interview one of my favorite webloggers. Holly started her weblog, Watch Me Turn 30, after turning 29 almost a year ago. Each day posts a different photo of herself and general thoughts for the day. With less than a week left until the big day, Holly was nice enough to answer the following questions:
Do you plan on continuing the blog after you turn 30?
Actually, I'm passing Watchmeturn30 onto a friend who turns 29 two days before I turn 30. Hopefully, she'll pass it on when the time comes, and so on. However, I will start another blog soonish. Stay tuned for that.
Did you get tired of taking photos of yourself on a daily basis or do you find it fun?
Yes and no. I love the idea of having an assignment everyday. Of course, finding new and interesting ways to shoot the same subject daily is quite a challenge. Sometimes I think I rocked it, sometimes not so much. But the thing with Watchme is--there's always tomorrow.
Do you have any favorite photos?

How do you feel about turning 30?
I'm ready! After talking about it for a year, it feels like it's already here. So many people have written to me saying how much they enjoyed 30, and their thirties in general. It's an exciting decade. As long as I can keep the white hair away a little longer, I feel good.
Are you where you want to be on the eve of turning 30?
On the eve of the big day I will be on a beach in the Dominican Republic with my man and my girls by my side. That's exactly where I want to be. = )
