Dinner party
The shirt I cooked in has the smell of the dinner I cooked embedded in it. We've become friends with our neighbors thanks to Rusty (our cat) since they take care of him when we go away so we finally decided to invite them over for dinner. Unfortunately, throwing dinner parties for us is never a simple affair but this one was a little more complicated by the fact that the dish I wanted to make required a dutch oven, something we never had and I was reluctant to buy just for one meal (they're somewhat expensive) but gave in because I wanted really wanted to make this particular dish. Including the trip to buy the dutch oven (they're quite heavy), I made five shopping trips for the dinner party.
The one good thing about dinner parties is that they motivate Adam and I to clean and we spent the whole morning cleaning. I started chopping up things for dinner at 2, continued on through when our guests arrived and didn't finish cooking until around 7:30. Luckily, the main dish came out well (a French beef stew- not boeuf bourguinon though). An appetizer I made for the first time, parmesan onion puffs, was also a success. Unfortunately, the food I make is almost never photo-worthy so I'll just share a photo of a clever holiday appetizer Adam whipped up:
