Excitement
There was recently an open call for City employees for an exhibit at this gallery. I used to really be into photography (I still am but just don't take as many photographs anymore) and had taken many photographs over the course of several years so I thought it might be worthwhile to submit a few photos for consideration and I just found out today that one of my photographs was accepted! The bad thing is that the exhibit (including the opening) is happening the one full week Adam and I will be in London and France but I'm still pretty excited. I used to work at the bookstore at MOMA where everyone did something creative and I would always feel a pang of envy when someone was having an opening. My fantasy in those days was being in a band but that definitely never materialized. I took many photographs of Williamsburg over the course of two summers when I performed survey work as part of a summer internship and was disappointed when I found out I had missed on this opportunity. But I am pretty psyched that one of my photographs will be included in an exhibit, even if the exhibit will only last one week!
