Sandy Hook
Went on a birding trip to Sandy Hook today. The trip was described as a seal and winter bird-watching tour in Sandy Hook so I thought it would be a boat tour but it ended up being a land tour which I found a little disappointing. But we did see a couple of nice birds including the killdeer, a cute plover that pretends to have a broken wing to distract potential predators from its nest, a cedar waxwing, a cute bird that apparently likes berries, and a yellow-rumped warbler. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any bird photos this time because all of the birds we saw were pretty far away (no seal photos either because the two seals we did see were even farther away and we only saw their heads bobbing out of the water) but I did take few pictures of Sandy Hook itself.
I thought these former army barracks looked very Hopper-esque.
