Sunday = Fun day
Finally checked out the Greater New York exhibit at P.S. 1 and I'm glad I went. This year's exhibit seemed particularly expansive and they had a number of pieces I liked. I'm a big fan of video art and loved this video piece that involved a video camera set upon a miniature train as it moves along an extensive system of train tracks set up in various houses (the video makes it look like one house though). There was also a video installation involving people dressed up as ostriches that was interesting. Afterwards we went to Harry's Water Taxi Bar. At first, we were disappointed--the place reminded Adam and I of this bar/restaurant in Freeport, L.I. we went to the previous weekend but we ended up staying for several hours and the place grew on us. The views are great and the beach concept is pretty cool and a definite bonus are the $1 hot dogs (of which they have several kinds), other cheap grub, and reasonably priced drinks. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're in the area.

Not the best picture--unfortunately, even though a million people have probably done so they have a policy of not allowing people to take photographs (related to some security issue).
Unfortunately, we had a million hours to kill before the Le Tigre show but, luckily, it isn't too difficult to do this in Union Square and the show was worth it. Le Tigre's definitely one of my favorite bands--I think they've superceded just about every female-headed band I've ever liked. What was not fun--waiting an hour for the subway coming home and waking up an hour plus late this morning.
