Jury Duty: A Prelude
The jury duty system sucks--you recieve a summons telling you when to start calling, but you really have no way of finding out what day you actually have to start until after 5 the day before you're supposed to appear. How is anyone supposed to plan their work schedule? Speaking of work, the new Shea/Olympic stadium proposal is probably going to mean a lot more work for me.
Apparently, San Francisco might have transit strikes in their future. Just picture a subway strike in NYC and you can get an idea of how much it will suck for people in San Francisco if their transit workers strike. I should know, I was in San Francisco during the 1997 transit strike. Two and a half hour commutes and packed street cars are definitely no fun.
