You would think a bunch of hurricanes originating in the Caribbean wouldn't have much of an effect on New York City but the last three big hurricanes have meant heavy rainstorms in NYC which have wreaked havoc on our lovely subway system, including tonight, when taking the subway back home to Queens meant long waits and confusion. It ended up taking me twice as long to get home tonight. The hurricane-related rain has also meant anxiety-filled work days for Adam and I since our apartment is so prone to flooding (luckily, it hasn't flooded yet, knock on wood).

Normally, I get really frustrated about these kind of things but not today--after nearly having to resign ourselves to losing yet another co-op, we discovered the problem had been resolved. Won't bore you with the details but let's just say one obstacle has been overcome--let's just hope there's no more thrown our way.

It's pathetic how rain shuts down the city. If the MTA can't handle rain, how could they handle a terrorist attack?
