June 2

I know China has gone to extremes in trying to win the bid for the 2008 Olympics, but I didn't realize some of these kinds of extremes applied to their public sector hiring policies as well. Just read an interesting article in the NYT about how, in attempt to improve their global public image since joining the WTO in 2001, the country has imposed physical standards on potential job candidates. One province in central China went so far as requiring all women seeking government jobs to demonstrate that they had symmetrically shaped breasts! That's crazy on multiple levels but my question is who the heck would notice!

Hi Jennifer,

Sorry to tack this on where it doesn't belong, but I didn't know where else to get a message to you. (Congratulations on your wedding, by the way). Do you know how to get in touch with Rich Collier (SubwayQ&A, etc) these days? I've lost track of him. Actually, come to think of it, the last time I saw him was at MY wedding.

Let me know.
Thanks,
Rich Brown

PS: Tell him that I have a 45 minute video of him from 10th grade titled "CPR" and I WILL use it.
